The site doesn’t offer much with regards to it’s functionality….I can kinda get the idea, but there isn’t much there for knowledge. Let me know what you think of it Jeff.
April 28th, 2008 at 6:37 pmIt’s a social networking thing for your cellphone. When you’re at a location, you enter it in Brightkite, then you can see other users in proximity to you. Then you introduce yourself. Then you find out that you would’ve been better off not introducing yourself.
I “checked in” with Brightkite when I got to work today and it showed that the only other Brightkite user was some guy in a real estate office a few streets away. No introductions were made.
I see this as being handy if your friends were all out and you were looking to meet up. But all your friends have to be on Brightkite for it to be of any value.
Not sure I’m going to take to this one… but it’s nice to try something new. I’ll post more updates as I break it in.
